Typing Club is required for homework on a weekly basis.  Students are required to complete ONE lessons per week. A homework grade will be posted at mid marking period and again at the end of each marking period. Speed comes with proper technique. Focus on proper hand placement and key strokes. Once the fingers have learned where to go the speed will increase. Students will also be assessed at key points.

Schoology is in full use. Please continue to look at the website for updates in Digital Literacy and due dates for Edutyping and keyboarding assessments. The link for Shoology is below. I will get all the students logged in and familiar with the LMS. At the 4/5 level I will be using Schoology to communicate and assess the kids. You can download the app onto your smartphone or tablet to receive all notifications. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE APP ON YOUR SMARTPHONE OR TABLET!

Both 4th and 5th grade skills will be taught through classroom connection.  I will be working closely with teachers to have digital literacy class projects related to classroom content.  If students have a purpose for creating they are more invested and
work with a purpose.

Grade 4 will be guided through the lessons and shown how to navigate the different applications.

Grade 5 will have choice of
the application that they want to use to complete the task.  At times I will choose the application, but I want the students to start picking the application that would be suitable for the task at hand.  As they are prepared for middle school, these decisions will be part of understanding what each application offers will aide in their decisions and creativity.

If you need to contact me at any time please email me at  I will get back to you withing 24 hours of the email.
