Classroom Quick

Welcome to my website!  I am excited to introduce myself.  I started teaching in Arbor in 2014.  I am a fourth grade Literacy/Social Studies teacher at Arbor Intermediate School.   The students in room 13 come to me for Literacy/Social Studies and travel just across the hall into Ms. Lepski's room for Math/Science.
Reader's Writer's Workshop
In Arbor school, we use the reading and writing workshop.  Students will be taught a concept, get a chance to see it modeled for them, they will work together to practice that skill, and then they will get a chance to practice these skills individually.  Students will also get small group opportunities to review skills and discuss concepts taught during our lessons.  In addition to small groups, I will use individual conferences to meet with students in order to assess understanding and provide extra help when/if needed. Time and careful planning will be used in our room in the beginning of our school year in order for students to get used to how reading/writing workshop works in fourth grade and in our classroom.
Want to find a book that is
"just right" for your child to read?  Go to the Scholastic Book Wizard link on the right hand side of my page, and type in the name of the book.  I encourage students to read books that are on their level.  Students will have plenty of opportunities to take books out of our school library, and take books out of our classroom library.  There is ALWAYS something to read. :)
Reading Logs will be due every Friday.  Please have your child read every night and complete their log that will be provided for them.
