Classroom Quick

Welcome to my website!  I am excited to introduce myself.  I started teaching at Arbor in 2014.  I taught 4th grade Literacy/Social Studies for the first 4 years.  This past year, I taught all four subjects at Arbor School in fifth grade.  This year, I am excited to announce that I am back to teaching fourth grade Literacy/Social Studies.

Reader's Writer's Workshop
In Arbor school, we use the reading and writing workshop.  Students will be taught a concept, get a chance to see it modeled for them, they will work together to practice that skill, and then they will get a chance to practice these skills individually.  Students will also get small group opportunities to review skills and discuss concepts taught during our lessons.  In addition to small groups, I will use individual conferences to meet with students in order to assess understanding and provide extra help when/if needed. Time and careful planning will be used in our room in the beginning of our school year in order for students to get used to how reading/writing workshop works in fourth grade and in our classroom.

The Social Studies book can be found online by clicking on the link on the right hand side of this page.

I will be posting homework on my Schoology calendar every night.

Please make sure to check your child's planner every night.
Their Friday folders will often contain important information that is given by the PTO, district, principal, or myself.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
I look forward to a very exciting and successful school

Technology Corner in Room 34

I am excited to announce that we will be taking some of our assessments on Schoology!  This is a great way to stay connected, and allow students to see instant results.

Want to find a book that is
"just right" for your child to read?  Go to the Scholastic Book Wizard link on the right hand side of my page, and type in the name of the book.  I encourage students to read books that are on their level.  Students will have plenty of opportunities to take books out of our school library and take books out of our classroom library.  There is ALWAYS something to read. :)
